This is insane. In Davenport Iowa, an apartment building partially collapsed. There are still people and pets unaccounted for, but the city is set to demolish the building tomorrow morning and forgo any rescue attempts? People are understandably furious/protesting.
Crowd in downtown Davenport has slowly dissipated. Police are continuing to put up barriers to block access from the building.

Newton, Iowa Mayor Michael Hansen just had someone arrested for speaking out against the Newton Police Department for having an officer on duty who has a no contact order stemming from a domestic abuse case.
Newton Police Chief Rob Burdess arrested a man by the name of Noah Petersen tonight at a city council meeting. During public comment, Petersen criticized the police department and said it supports domestic abuse, referring to a specific officer. The mayor demanded he be removed.
