Yet 5,5% growth by selling and building tanks and shells to your own army is not a viable business model, just going from one pocket to another really. And 3,1% of the second biggest economy in the world is vastly more than 5,5% of an „emerging“ second world country.

Familiar with NATO? US and Germany are Allies since 1955, so I’ll take my chances. Besides, the Russian forces struggled for months to take one small city, which they’re losing again now, so I wouldn’t recommend an offensive against Nato countries.

If you take a step back and look at the bigger picture, russia is losing its influence in the black sea with every ship it loses, and Crimea will increasingly become untenable for russia: no more navy, no more tourists, no more infrastructure or russian trade.
