The Old Saybrook and Westbrook Fire Depts responded to a boat fire in Old Saybrook today. Firefighters stretched a hose line from the Fire Boat Gordon B Smith to the interior cabin to extinguish the fire. The Old Saybrook Fire Marshal is investigating. No injuries were reported.

At 7:21 pm the Old Saybrook Fire Dept was dispatched to the area of College Street for a reported house fire. Veteran Firefighter James Mitchell Sr (OSFD 1964 to 1976) noticed flames from the rear of the house and called 911. Fire was contained to two rooms no injuries.

I95 Southbound Exit 68 off Ramp and Springbrook Road East Bound are both closed after a single car motor vehicle accident. Two people were transported to the hospital by Old Saybrook and Old Lyme ambulances.
