Good Luck Samuel Samuel Johnson is heading to Cleveland to sing this weekend in the highly competitive Ohio All State Choir hosted by the Ohio Music Education Association. He is the only student in Springboro High School history to be selected to participate in the 120 person choir. Springboro is SO proud of you Sammy!💙 The Ohio Music Education Association advocates for comprehensive school programs in general, instrumental, and choral music education, state and national music standards, with assessment to ensure that students meet high academic expectations, licensed teachers, adequate instructional time, and appropriate facilities and materials for music programs. About Sam: Sam has been actively involved in theater since his debut musical, “Honk,” at Play House South, now known as Springboro Community Theater. He has been a member of SCT since the age of seven and has participated in every school musical and play since the sixth grade, although he was unable to perform in the school musical during his eighth-grade year due to COVID. During his freshman year, Sam was the first freshman in eight years to be accepted into the Audition After-School Jazz Choir. He later distinguished himself as one of only four sophomores selected for the auditioned Chamber Choir. In his junior year, he participated in the OMEA District 13 Honor Choir and had the privilege of portraying Count Impolitov in the production of "Anastasia." Throughout his four years of high school, Sam consistently performed in the OMEA Solo and Ensemble, presenting a Class A foreign language piece. He achieved the highest rating possible for three of those years; however, he was unfortunately unable to be graded in his senior year due to weather-related complications. He once again participated in the OMEA District 13 Honor Choir during his senior year. Sam has demonstrated a lifelong passion for singing and performing, striving to deliver captivating performances that entertain and engage his audience. He aspires to pursue a career in film or professional singing, with a dream of appearing on the big screen or contributing to video games through motion capture or voice acting.

Message From Main Street Deli We have done everything possible to keep our doors open since 2020, reinvesting month after month to stay in business. Over the past year, we have prioritized sustaining the restaurant over paying ourselves, all while navigating rising costs in every aspect of life. To say it has been a challenge would be an understatement. This morning, we woke up to yet another small, locally owned restaurant in the Dayton area announcing its closure. If something doesn’t change, we risk a future where only large chain restaurants and fast food remain. Independent restaurants like ours depend on community support to survive. When you choose where to dine, consider supporting the places where the employees genuinely care about providing great food and service. We encourage you to make a difference—opt for a local eatery over the convenience of a drive-thru. Share your favorite restaurants with friends and family, engage with their social media, leave positive reviews, and recommend them on local dining pages. Every small action adds up and helps keep independent businesses alive. After 30 years, we remain committed to serving our community, but the challenges are real. We’re hopeful that the arrival of warmer weather and spring will bring more people out to support local dining. Thank you for standing with us and other small businesses—we truly appreciate it. #SpringboroOhio
#Springboro Note: the owner of The Local 937 sandwich shop in the St. Anne’s Hill Historic District of Dayton announced it will close.

Willow Creek Developers And Builders And Freedom Whiskey Company Give This Vietnam Veteran The Welcome Home Of His Life! View the home reveal remodeled bathroom of Vietnam Veteran Michael Vanderveen (aka Popsicle ) sponsored by Freedom Whiskey Company and Willow Creek developers and builders. "After getting involved with Krista Hollingsworth of The Freedom Whiskey Companies Veterans Day Celebration, an annual fundraising event for local and national veteran charities, I knew we could do more. I could do more with what I do for a living, instead of just earning a check. I contacted local companies, including KORRECT Plumbing, Cutting Edge Flooring, Triton Stream Cleaning, Centerville WinSupply, The Barrel, The Appliance Gallery and others. We volunteered to give away a bathroom remodel to make a Veteran's bathroom work for them with additional accessibility improvements they may need. We also announced this weekend that we intend to make this a yearly event." - Nathan Arndts #SpringboroOhio
