There’s a great line from Carl Sagan’s “Contact”, “The first rule of government spending, why build one when you can build two for twice the price.” Funny, but out of date. The updated rule book for government spending reads… “Why build one when you can launch an oversight committee, a feasibility study and research grants on how the proposed building may impact climate change for ten times the price.”

Just as dangerous, and already more complete, is the covert control grid that exists in the form of a media landscape that is - in the vast majority of cases - entirely unreal, and conditions learned behaviours - Pavlov style - through drip feeds of cultivated rage and joy. We’re in the age of social media, where attention is currency. They don’t manufacture consent anymore, they manufacture reality and farm engagement.
