The borough and district councils across Leicestershire are looking to appoint a number of ‘Independent Persons’ to support them in promoting and maintaining high standards of conduct amongst their elected members. The appointment will be for a fixed term of 4 years to commence from May 2025 onwards and training will be provided. You can learn more and apply here:

Today we held a service to mark Holocaust Memorial Day at Peace Memorial Park, Wigston. Pupils from All Saints C of E Primary School in Wigston shared a poem during the service, and local resident and author Julian Harrison delivered an address, as well as hearing reflections from local faith leaders. The event was also attend by our Mayor, and members of the council as well as members of the public - thank you to all who came along.
