So Sajam's discord runs regular tourneys for a few games, including +R. Some are for beginner-intermediate players.
I'm planning a collaboration with them to try something new. We're going to run a tourney where I will be commentating, but with intention on teaching.

I'm generally a pretty private person, but this felt necessary to share. Earlier this year, I found out I had colon cancer. Luckily, the doctors think we caught it early and I'm going to be ok. Thankful to be over this hurdle, and hopefully, get back to my normal life.

And the biggest assumption you're making is that every person playing the game is trying to maximize win percentage. That's both not the case to begin with, but also doesn't work the same for everyone, even if they are. This is why not every player plays the game character.

There are tons of games/chars where there is not a clear "optimal" route for a lot of situations and it's player choice/pref of what resource(s) they prioritize, which then extends to character expression. Not to mention the choice to spend meter or not is expression in itself.

Random idea: Can someone make a mod for PC +R so that in training mode, when you have input display on and do a move with an FRC, the game makes a SOUND in addition to the blue flash? I feel like this would make it 1000x easier for people to get FRC timings down (including me).

The results of the chemo were as good as we expected, in that everything was all clear. Today's procedure was the final small surgery to remove the port used to administer the chemo medications, so as of today, this ordeal is finally over, and I'm cancer free. (3/4)

While yes, this is true, people need to get passionate about getting out there and voting and doing whatever they can to make a difference. This isn't going to change itself.
The most important thing to take away from this tragedy, IMO, is to not give in to the fear. Do not let this stop enjoying the things that we love. Keep going to events, keep pursuing your passions. Keep doing the things you love. We can’t live life in fear.

I realized Yuzu is the nightmare vision that many GG players have of Venom: a char with a win condition of hitting you from across the screen.
GG players seem to think they're losing 30%+ at a time from full screen Venom hits. They should play against Yuzu to see the difference.

Based on the results of the surgery, my oncologist wound up recommending that I do 3 months of chemo as a precaution, to reduce the risk of the cancer returning. That started in January. My first treatment was literally the exact day that UNI2 came out 🥲. (2/4)

It really feels weird knowing Xrd won't be a main game at Evo. Commentating on Sunday has been a big part of my Evo experience for the last 4 years. That said, I'm excited to have the added motivation to grind UNIST, and I'm thrilled to see it get the spotlight it deserves.

I barely played Xrd at CB. I spent all my free time playing UNIST. Normally, when I get back from a major I'm burned out and need a break. Instead, I feel extremely hungry to keep learning and get better. CB for me was dipping my toe in the water. I want to make waves at CEO/Evo.
