On this day during the 2013 "12 days of hell", the closing act came when a 2.6 mile wide EF3 tornado with 300 (296-336) mph+ radar indicated winds (sub-vortex) tracked near El Reno. It is the widest tornado ever officially documented. Sadly, it claimed the lives of 8 people,

A few of our photos from #Barnsdall #okwx after an EF4 tornado struck town. Chris Perry donated the tornado photo to our database. This was as it neared town. The storm shelter had people inside, and the chain and door nearly came off. It is in a heavily impacted zone.

Barnsdall #okwx 1:00 pm update: * Osage County EM reports damage to 30-40 homes and thus many people in town are displaced. * 1 confirmed killed * Barnsdall Nursing Home was hit with partial roof collapse. Staff reports all residents are accounted for with no injuries.

On this date, back during a 12-day span in 2013, the most recent EF5 rated #tornado struck portions of Newcastle-South OKC-Moore #okwx . Rated 210 mph EF5, the wedge tornado tracked 14 miles over 39 minutes and reached a width of 1900 yards. It claimed 24 people and injured 212.

Inbox: Does a photo exist of the 1974 Drumright tornado? Also, do you know the rating? Was a kid when it hit. I was saving this for a future post, but yes via Olive FD. It was an F4. My gramps was actually a cop and responded to it on a mutual aid call. It was a nasty situation.

#May3rd25th The Stroud F3 destroyed Wendy's and the Tanger Outlet Mall, among other local businesses and locals. The economic impact of this tornado was almost too much for the town to bear, and even today, a once vital part of the town sits empty, still showing the scars.
