Today is the 20th anniversary of the first oesophageal cancer support group in NI from which OGCancerNI has grown out of. Today we are so thankful to Roy McMullan for setting up the first meeting and we are celebrating with cake! It is amazing to see how far we have come.

Statistics show that only 9.6% of the Oesophageal and Gastric cancer patients in NI were diagnosed at the early stage. This is very worrying. There are many more options for treating OG Cancer at the early stage.

Leslie is a past patient, having had his operation (gastrectomy) at 89 years of age on 20th November 2017.
On Sunday, at 91 years old, Leslie completed our 2.5k park walk.

A year ago OGCancerNI funded a -80 freezer for the storage of blood samples for cancer research purposes. OG cancer are pleased that the freezer will be used, on a temporary basis, to store Covid-19 vaccine. This move will not have any impact on the treatment of cancer patients.
