At Brownies, we coloured/cut out sea creatures for fishing using bamboo skewers, string and a paper clip! I spent the evening working through wellbeing plans for each girl (and volunteer) ready for not only unit meetings, but our big District sleepover in a few weeks! (2/2)

CHINESE NEW YEAR 🧧 This week was just Rainbows as the Brownies were off tobogganing. We found out our Chinese zodiacs, created curly snakes and played some snake themed games! 🐍 We also received our recycling badge after weeks of environmental themed activities! ♻️

@guidingDee Yes! We are SO looking forward to it, we are ‘Sleeping with the Sharks’ - The girls are going to love it!!

(2/2) I led this week’s Brownies with some ocean acidification (cabbage water) and different acidic/alkaline foods to change the water colour and pH…they will thank me when they get to Secondary school! We also tried to clean up an oil spill and saw how tricky it was…imagine.

A FRESH START TO 2025 📚 We started back at Rainbows a few weeks ago and did activities to welcome some new Rainbows to the unit. We created footprints for a UMA and we’re going to re-use them to welcome any new Rainbows in the future for their first meeting…very cute!! 🥰

MENTAL HEALTH CALL 🧠 As some additional training, I took part in an online seminar through GGNWE and YoungMinds around MH in Young People. Having already completed a MHFA course with MH England, I wanted to see what thoughts the YoungMinds Charity might bring to the session…💭

CHRISTMAS CAKE FINALE 🎂 For the final week before Christmas, the Brownies finished off their mini Christmas cakes with the usual icing and decs, they looked fantastic! They also finished decorating their tree decs for the annual tree display in the local church… 🎄

CHRISTMAS CAKE 🧁 The penultimate week of term consisted of a Christmas party for Rainbows, kindly organised by our YLs, and Christmas cake making for the Brownies. They really enjoyed it and took their mini cakes home to bake and bring back the following week to decorate! 🤩

(2/2) Empower is for 14-30 year old members to take part in keynote sessions, training style workshops, ran by volunteers and GGSWE ambassadors, panel discussions and social activities. It would not have been possible without the incredible team in the last photo 🥰

COMMUNITY WEEK 🙌 We had a great session decorating bags to sell at our newly opened community shop, every Rainbow and Brownie took part. We also created Christmas decorations for the church tree exhibition where local groups and families decorate trees for a big display.🎄

(2/2) With Brownies, I showed them some of the souvenirs collected from Ghana, alongside some activities to link with the Rainbows and my 100 Girls project as part of JLS. They drew ‘cups of positivity-tea’, thinking about all the things they value and love.

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY 🎺 We took part in our local BK Remembrance Service with all units represented. It was a beautiful, crisp Autumn day so I took the opportunity afterwards to organise the shed and box everything into seasons/activities and general use…tedious but I love it! 🥰
