As we get closer and closer to a year since Russia's escalation in Ukraine in February 2022, I figured I'd put all of my threads or writings, many which I still think are valuable, in one place for those interested. 🧵

@BIforPeace It's also a massive logistical understanding that would take a lot of assistance to allow it to happen while also doing what is best for the children who have been affected.

@BIforPeace Add what we know is happening to Ukrainian children in Russian occupied territories and in the Russian Federation. Russification, surveillance, and patriotic education, while telling them their parents are dead

The film is to be screened at the Antenna Film Festival in February. Again, I offer a scholarly discussion reflecting on why this film is flawed. I still hope to view it for myself first.

CBC has an update on Russians at War. I continue to suggest there is a deeper discussion to be had that allows scholars to highlight why the doc's flawed. I hope to view it for myself as I study "Ordinary Russians" and Russia's War in Ukraine

It's unclear, but some reports suggest Tr*mp's order to freeze foreign aid affects Ukraine. Simply reckless and heartless if indeed true.

This should not be a shock given what I have written, but I fully agree with Jade. A must read.

As part of my talk, I discuss how Russian leaders use historical memory to dehumanize Ukrainians. This dehumanization encourages excessive violence. This is part of the Russian government's genocidal intent in Ukraine.

I teach a course with students responding to global challenges in Canada. This week could very much dictate the focus of that course.

Had a much needed afternoon making edits and updates to my book. More importantly, I have found further connections between the Soviet WW2 period and Russia's atrocities today. The book is only getting stronger in its arguments.
