The Auditor General, Mr. Edward Akol, has today received preliminary findings of the evaluation exercise into the performance of the Swedish National Audit Office- 5 year East African Cooperation, where SAI Uganda is a participant. The findings have been presented by a team of consultants from Cowater International, Sweden.

Selected staff are contributing to the evaluation of the Swedish National Audit Office's 5-year Regional East African Cooperation with Supreme Audit Institutions of Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda. Working with consultants from Cowater International Sweden, the exercise aims to reflect on the impact of the project, its successes and challenges, and ultimately shape future initiatives. #SAICollaboration

The Auditor General, Edward Akol, is hosting a delegation from the Zambian Audit Office. Headed by Chilekwa Monje, the team will work with our Directorate of Quality Assurance and Audit Development to benchmark and share knowledge on best practices in quality assurance.

#EarlierToday: The Auditor General, Mr. Edward Akol, officially opened a one-week Performance Audit Champions Refresher Workshop, facilitated by the Swedish National Audit Office. He implored participants to actively participate in the workshop, learn from experts, and gain knowledge and skills that will help them create great impact in their work. The workshop aims at deepening participants’ understanding of qualitative methods and enhancing their practical skills in performance audits.

#EarlierToday The Head of Division for Governance at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, Mr. Martin Hoppe, paid a courtesy call on the Auditor General, Mr. Edward Akol. The Assistant Auditors General, Mr. Stephen Kateregga and Mr. James Bantu, received the delegation at the Audit House. The team discussed areas of mutual interest in the governance sector. Mr. Hoppe is in the country to inspect the German Cooperation work in the governance sector.

#HappeningNow: The Auditor General Edward Akol is joining his counterparts- Heads of Anti Corruption Agencies to commemorate the International Anti- Corruption Day 2024 at Speke Resort Munyonyo under the Theme; “ Promoting Effective Participation of the Youth in the war against corruption.” The President of Uganda is the Guest of Honor represented by the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja.
