HOT TAKE on what makes someone a BITCOINER 🔥 I hear this argument saying that a real Bitcoiner has to both hodl and spend Bitcoin… To me, the actual owning or spending is such a small fraction of what I get from Bitcoin. I characterise a Bitcoiner based on their time-preference and how they contribute to the world. This is independent of Bitcoin. I know people I consider hardcore bitcoiners who don’t actually own that much Bitcoin at all because they invest their time energy and wealth into their company or into their work and into the world around them. Deploying your wealth and time into productive things that are needed or profitable is the real flex! Saving profit in Bitcoin is the foundation or incentive that allows us to have that long-term perspective that is needed for many great accomplishments. This would be independent of both owning and spending bitcoin. Bitcoin empowers us to invest in our future. In my opinion, the biggest contribution that Bitcoin makes is the incentives and objectivism that it imposes on the world. You can benefit from Bitcoin without actually owning any because of the world that it will allow us all to create. A few people are already ahead of the curve on this and are living this kind of life even before they know about bitcoin. Are these people Bitcoiners without even knowing it?
