Our new hybrid Blood Car got a good tour of the North East for its first operational shift last night. Alongside our volunteer driver they visited the RVI, Freeman, QE, Sunderland Royal, NSECH and NHS Blood Transfusion completing 9 jobs. #bloodcar #MakeADifference #ItsWhatWeDo

Today our second hybrid vehicle, a Toyota Corolla, went into operational service. This vehicle replaces one of our other cars, that we recently retired from the fleet, and we chose to continue our journey into the realms of hybrid vehicles. #BloodBikes #bloodcar #newcar

As the white stuff falls across the region it’s business as usual for our team of volunteers out on the roads. Although our blood bikes have been stood down our blood cars take their place. Just a bit of extra time at the start of the shift to get the vehicles ready for action.

Remember, remember the 5th of November. Today our volunteer driver Clive has completed an urgent milk run from the Northumbria Hub in Morpeth down to The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough. All completed free of charge for the NHS by a Blood Bike volunteer.
