@Astropartigirl These things are scary, not so much this one but the ones we don't detect. 2019ok passed closer than the moon and we didn't detect it until it was leaving. When Vera Ruben comes online this year I suspect we will see so many more.

@clashreport They are willing to go to war to keep Palestinians out. Why doesn't Turkey offer the freedom fighters of Gaza a home?

@RealDianeYap Most don't understand soft power because the media and politicians lie about it. It doesn't exist. If USAID is funding a dam in Afghanistan it's to divert the flow of water to irrigate a CIA opium field.

As I understand it only the thermal radiation (the light) would be transfered and the kinetic energy from whatever bomb fragments hit it. No thermal energy would be transfered via conduction or convection. No kinetic shockwave either like we see on earth. I'm no nuclear physicist or expert, I've only read about it in some books so that's how I understand it. I'm not sure how much that thermal radiation would push it, it probably depends on the size of the bomb and the size/composition of the asteroid.

@Brandon12026987 @Eleusinian108 Yeah I get that part. Neolithic artifacts and humans remains have been found there and date back 50,000 years. Things like stone structures and advanced tools (lets say Egyptian or Roman advanced) would have survived as well.

@FutureJurvetson Do they have a good idea of what it's made out of and it's mass? Hopefully it's not a giant chunk of iron.

@AlexBolewski @FutureJurvetson A nuke won't do much to it if it's not a direct impact. It's just a really bright flash of light in space without matter (like air, rock etc) to transfer the energy.

How many cities have now been found to be destroyed by an impact? Three last I checked. One in Egypt, one in India and one in Jordan. Impacts like Tunguska are likely quite common on a geological timeframe and would kill millions over a populated area. I'm not sure why people don't take them seriously.

@Brandon12026987 @Eleusinian108 Neolithic tribes lived there dating back at least 50,000 years. There are skeletal remains as well as tools and artifacts. Homo erectus lived there before that. No remains of any advanced city yet these survived. This area has been studied.

@SobrietyCM I don't think they should cut the exhibit. They should build the exhibit, put a copy of his pardon on the wall and make a life size replica of a demon. Maybe a list of the estimated body count of aids and covid 19
