Having a shorter season explains the lack of "climax" of the finale but not the illogical plots, the extensive plot holes during the whole season. Having one or two extra episodes doesn't change the fact that we had so much time lost on terciary characters and not on secondary.
The exact same thing that happened to House of the Dragon Season 2 happened to The Last of Us Season 2.
They were supposed to have 9 episodes, were told to cut it to 7.
After TLOU 2 airs, will people realize "It's not the writers, it's HBO"?
