Dear Indie Devs,
Never stop making turn based RPGs. Your hard work and passion for the genre is evident in the amazing adventures you create. We appreciate all that you do.
We really were spoiled with RPGs in the PS1 era. Here’s my collection so far. What do you think should be the next game I add? (I have Legend of Dragoon it’s just absent in the picture)
Remember in A Link to the Past, after you lead Zelda through that murky sewer and you emerge from the Church for the first time? It's daylight and that triumphant overworld music kicks in! That was a magical moment for me as a kid.
The fact that Anima looks like a tortured soul and has an attack simply called "Pain" becomes infinitely worse when you find out the history of the Aeon. It's definitely one of the darker things about Final Fantasy X.
"Final Fantasy X was the last good Final Fantasy"
I hear this a lot and I can't disagree more! I absolutely adore FFXII. The story and battle system were quite different from previous titles but I loved them. Not to mention Basch, Balthier, Fran, and Ashe ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Final Fantasy 3
Final Fantasy 4
Final Fantasy 5
Final Fantasy 6
Final Fantasy Tactics
Belong on modern Consoles.
Some RPGs that I fear have a legitimate shot of being forgotten. Unjustly so, these are all amazing game. Hoping someday there’s some lasting preservation of these titles. Any more you’d like to add to the list?
Black Waltz tweet got me thinking about all the times I had to defend Final Fantasy IX. I remember the fad of calling the game childish mostly because of its art style. You could tell people didn’t actually follow the story. It’s a grim fairy tale.
If you asked me today what the 10 best rpgs of all time are:
10. Xenoblade Chronicles
9. Skies of Arcadia
8. Tales of Destiny
7. Final Fantasy IX
6. Dragon Ques XI
5. Lufia II
4. Final Fantasy VII
3. Suikoden II
2. Chrono Trigger
1. Final Fantasy VI
What are yours?
The disparity in Final Fantasy 16s side quests is quite large. Most of them are quite uneventful, but there's a handful of them that are quite emotional and or unnerving. The girl with her lost pet CHLOE...
Have you ever bought a console just so you could play a specific game? I technically didn't buy it, but I begged my mom for a PlayStation just so I could play Final Fantasy VII. And 25 years later, here they still stand!
You talk about Final Fantasy a lot.
I see no reason not to.
This franchise was my introduction to JRPGs and I’ve been hooked ever since! What’s your favorite Final Fantasy game and why?
Just so you know the most powerful character in the Final Fantasy IX universe is Stiltzkin. Think about it. He follows you, by himself, basically to the end of the game. Where you need 4 party members he goes solo. The true extent of his power is unknown.
People, do you realize how insane 2023 looks for RPGs? This isn't all of them either.

GBA was fucking awesome!
It's been 20 years since Skies of Arcadia Legends was released. This game needs some legitimate love. I think it's time SEGA budged on this a little bit. Rumored remasters need to come to fruition. This game was good enough to be SEGA's "Tales of" franchise.
This is one of the best moments in Final Fantasy IX and Final Fantasy games in general. I won't get into the details cause I don't want to spoil it for people who haven't played FFIX , but the emotions drawn from this scene are intense. The music is perfect as well.
Give me 4 games (at least) that turned you into the gamer you are today!
Suffice to say I was an SNES baby.
Final Fantasy III (VI)
Mega Man X
Super Mario World
The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past
Believe it or not I do NOT have enough Final Fantasy friends! It makes me sad. Tell me about your favorite game, Character, or moment from the series. I love to read these!
Don’t overlook Live A Live. If you’re a fan of classic JRPGs you’ll love the remake of this game. It’s beautiful, the stories are short anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours, the game play is fun definitely worth your time!
Every time I make a post about how underrated Lufia 2 is, one person comes to tell me it’s not and it’s talked about often. Yet, I never see anyone post about it. So, until I see more I will continue to fan the flames of Lufia’s greatness!!!
The dichotomy of video game fandoms astounds me. A lot of us have become friends over loving video games but out there is someone who considers you their mortal enemy because you enjoyed Final Fantasy VIII too much.
The second hand game store had an amazing selection today. I had to be good. Only bought one game, but I think I did pretty well!
Legend of Legaia beautiful condition!
Is there a video game scene that lives in your head rent free? Chrono Trigger and the battle with Magus does it for me. The visuals, the dialogue, the music, hell even the sound effects all have permanent boarding space in my brain.
Ya know what I hate about first dates?
Everything can be going perfect and suddenly she gets sucked into a time portal and sent 400 years in the past...
A Link to the Past was the first Zelda game I ever played and my introduction into fantasy themes. It's still my favorite Zelda game to date. What was your first Zelda game and which is your favorite?
One trilogy stays and the other one is gone forever. Which do you choose? SNES Era ( Final Fantasy 4, 5, and 6 ) or PS1 Era ( Final Fantasy 7, 8, and 9 )
