Great stuff by @DanielLibit The most persuasive House objectors are current athletes who will be impacted by the settlement Some have come forward despite an unspoken chilling effect… as they are still under the thumb of the NCAA & speaking out could lead to retaliation

@Genetics56 I wholly agree that for the majority of FBS athletes the difference in state tax rate is nominal besides the states that don’t impose state income tax However, for 5⭐️ recruits and highly desired transfer athletes who can command 300k + at many institutions this is important

This new bill introduced in the Georgia legislature would create a nice recruiting advantage for Georgia schools. It would exempt NIL compensation received by college athletes from state income tax.

Back when I worked in NIL I sought advisory from top notch tax attorneys for 501(c)3 collectives… they emphasized ALL communication (public & internal) must be rooted in advancing charitable purpose… not athlete payment Looks like others should have sought outside counsel

@mirageofwins Well, no coach/program has to have a practice squad. It is permissive. Allow schools to spend their resources as they see fit.
