A-rod and Ortiz failed the same PED test, on the same day, in the same location. I’ll never understand how Ortiz seemingly gets a pass while Bonds, Ramirez, Clemens, and A-rod get vilified.
A lot of you owe Robinson Cano an apology. Dude played 160 games for 7 years in a row. The thought of a current Yankee doing that today is legit unfathomable.
Started a new job this week. Today everyone in my onboarding group had to share our Home Screen on our phones and talk about them. Everyone in my group had a child or spouse except me, who had a picture of Gerrit Cole. Slightly awkward.
“Have fun dealing with Ohtani in your division for the next decade!”
I had Manny Ramirez & David Ortiz in the division for my entire childhood.
There’s levels to this.
When I was a kid, everyone blamed the big market teams like the Yankees for “ruining the game” by spending. Only took 20 years but seems like the average fan finally understands that it’s the non spenders that ruin everything.
Seems like 80% of our fan base wants to fire Boone but keep Cashman. If you’re gonna axe the mediocre manager, you have to axe the guy that thought he was the second coming.
During the 10 games between the Rays and Yankees this year:
Stanton missed 7
Judge missed 6
DJ missed 3
Gleyber missed 3
They won’t get to flex on on Tyler Wade and Mike Tauchman tonight like they did all year.
Yankee fans get sucked into the dumbest arguments. Who cares if people think Judge is the face of baseball? Who gives a shit if Met fans think Alonso is better than him?
All that matters is getting to 28. That’s it.
The Yankees are 3.5 games up in the east despite the best pitcher in the world not throwing a single pitch and the Orioles having a significantly easier starting schedule.
This has been the absolute best case scenario as we hit the 1/3 mark of the season.
Tatis showed more remorse for hitting a grand slam than any Astro player did for organizing the largest cheating operation since the 1919 Black Sox.
Shows how fucked up the sport is right now.
Can’t believe there are Yankee fans out there who aren’t willing to give DJ 5 years. He’s legitimately everything you could ask for in a baseball player.
Wait Boone said he would’ve pulled his players off the field if he was Cora? That’s interesting because when the same exact situation presented itself in 2018 at Fenway, he sat there with his thumb up his ass blowing bubbles. Give me a break.
Happ is considering filing a grievance against the Yankees for “manipulating” his vesting option. He has a 6.39 ERA and the self awareness of a seagull.
Serious question…
What argument could you make for any other player over Shohei Ohtani for MVP?
The guy literally dominates at the plate and on the mound. Not a single other player even attempts that, much less succeeds at it.
He’s the definition of “most valuable”.
Most fans think the AJ Burnett expirement was a failure (4.79 ERA as a Yankee).
But this one start made everything worth it. Imagine heading to Philly down 0-2?
34 days until Opening Day shoutout to AJ Burnett. Burnett played only 3 seasons in Pinstripes but etched his name forever in Yankees history with an outstanding performance in Game 2 of the 2009 World Series. That night he allowed just 1 run in 7 innings.
It’s impossible to say this without sounding like the typical douchebag Yankee fan. But I have a newfound respect for all the fans out there who consistently watch bad baseball night in and night out. It’s exhausting and not fun at all
We need a president who:
-is great under intense media scrutiny
-calm, cool and collected under pressure
-has international relations and CEO experience
-has experience in a high level leadership position
-presentable, clean cut and well put together
I’m getting a bit emotional over the Hicks DFA. Massive step for the organization. Cashman admitting complete and total failure on that deal combined with Hal’s willingness to eat the money is huge. I’ll never forget this day.
Judge refuses to wear a walking boot because it’s “uncomfortable” and also insists on standing up for every game.
Doesn’t take a PHD to understand why it’s not healing.
Grew up watching the Yanke have to face Manny Ramirez, David Ortiz and Miguel Cabrera a million times in the playoffs. And we’re supposed to be afraid of Ji-Man Choi? Common.
The end of that Orioles game felt like a Yankee playoff game:
-Aroldis Chapman walking the tightrope
-Little League level baserunning
-Aaron Hicks striking out in a huge spot
Good Morning,
Aroldis Chapman is an absolute lock for the hall of fame.
He has a 1.71 playoff ERA as a Yankee and has never blown a save in the playoffs. Allowing a homer to a guy wearing a pitch recognition buzzer does not make him a “playoff choker.”
Have a great day.
It takes a certain level of scumbag to get all of Yankees twitter to take the side of a former Red Sox pitcher that PUT A YANKEE IN A HEADLOCK.
@TeamCJCorrea
Chris Sale forcing a couple of 16 year old clubhouse workers making 9 bucks an hour to clean up his mess after throwing a temper tantrum makes him the ultimate competitor 😤💯
Corey Kluber would be the perfect number 2 to slot behind Cole. Former ace, great stuff, no nonsense attitude. Bring him in and reunite him with Matt Blake.
@ncostanzo24
Sure the Yankees are consistently beating the rays and jays, but I’m gonna need to see them beat a team in the western time zone on a Sunday night with a full moon before I take them seriously
@martinonyc
“Obviously adding a modern day Ted Williams would’ve helped, but of course it takes two to tango. We feel that hanging onto these average prospects gives us a better chance to compete in 2028. We’ll give it a shot with our 82 win group and take our chances”
In 30-plus years doing this in New York, I have covered superb managers such as Joe Girardi, Joe Torre and Bobby Valentine. No was better managing the 9 innings than Buck Showalter.
“I’m not necessarily going to be chasing wins every day. It’s more about being committed to a process”
-Boone at his introductory press conference. We should’ve seen this coming. Loser mentality from day one.
The yanks deserve to be booed right now. And for the “never boo your own players” crowd
-they’re big boys
-they deserve it
-we spend too much time and money on this. We’re allowed to boo
Source: I’m being told the
#Yankees
still won’t budge on giving D.J. LeMahieu a 5-year deal. Both sides remain at a stalemate, however, LeMahieu desires to stay in the Bronx
Two things to remember:
1. Yanks have played only 4 of their 16 games at home (4-0). They play their next 9 games at home, and 16 of the next 18 in NY.
2. September schedule couldn’t be easier. They only have 2 games against teams over .500
(Rays)
Again: Jeter, A-rod, Cano ect played 155 games a year and were fine. This new age load management bullshit has resulted in a whopping zero World Series appearances. Nobody can defend it.
Didi against Houston in the playoffs (AKA the most important games he played for us)
2017 ALCS: .250/.250/.357
2019: ALCS: .217/.217/.261
Stop with this shit.
