1. The closure of Arena took away a place to run comp SoT with ease.
Since then it’s thousands of supplying hours. Custom servers we don’t have our own access to and don’t function anyway. Updates that cause more fog/pve interference with what are meant to be fair fights

Pros:
- Diving to events
- New long grinds
- Hot fixes have been admirable
Cons:
- Visual bugs (PvP unplayable)
- QS still exists but with genuine exploits this time (just revert it plz)
- PvP all-time low :(

It’s easy to say the removal of QS was based on feedback when the other half of that debate was actively silenced and prevented from being able to talk about it ever since it entered the Insider patch notes.
If feedback was integral then why was it silenced.

1, Rare has an EXTENSIVE community team constantly monitoring feedback. A lot of additions and fixes are based on community feedback. Like removing Quickswap. You are confusing a tiny piece of the community with the community as a whole

The reality is that without quick-swapping, the sweatier players will always beat the less sweaty players.
The only difference with nerfed quick swapping is the sweatier players lose what is very much part of the culture and fabric of the game for them.

‘Cannot be replicated on console’
I’m a controller-only comp SoT player and have been Quick-Swapping on a controller since I started playing the game.
It took me 30minutes to learn.

Ladder launch is not really required for winning, but is definitely a huge advantage. So getting rid of it isn't a big deal. "Some just love drama"
However, quick swapping did provide a big advantage, and can happen at any time, cannot be replicated on console, so they did not

Personally I think the mode for players wanting to avoid pvp is a great idea. It means less complaints & toxic comments towards pvp players.
However... we'd love some proper support for competitive players to have a proper space to enjoy their corner of the game too.

The failure in preventing them from returning on a new account 10 minutes later is where the issue is rooted.
Boasting ban statistics is irrelevant when they instantly have access to the game on new accounts.

rip. this innocuous "bug" was one of the only tools available to would-be capture artists in Sea of Thieves.
i never saw this being used to disable to enemy spawns for a gameplay advantage, but it was ESSENTIAL for making cinematic videos when you otherwise have no control.

Almost every comp player started out as a casual on this game. Doing TT’s, Fishing doing PvE. The majority look back with fond feelings of being this type of player in SoT
The comp side of pvp is just very much an ‘end game’ once they’ve reached the ceiling on that other content
