The Miller (@DocAJMM) and Ertem (@MZErtem) groups led this @CHASE_Hub collaboration on room temperature methanol synthesis from carbon dioxide using an electrochemical/thermal organometallic cascade. A pleasure working with them. See (@angew_chem).

We are excited to have been part of this @CHASE_Hub research on using microscopy to image molecular catalysts on Si surfaces (@Matter_CP) . Fascinating to see how catalysts distribute on the surface. @stach_eric led the team! See

We show how linear free energy relationships can be used to investigate secondary coordination sphere effects in carbon dioxide insertion into rhenium hydrides @InorgChem . Calculations from @MZErtem were critical. See:

We explored the effects of different bipyridine ligands on Ni catalysts for cross-electrophile coupling. There were many counterintuitive effects! Small changes make a large difference! See @ACSCatalysis,

We collaborated with @MayerPCET & @jillianldempsey on using porous Si to support a molecular catalyst that can photoelectrochemically reduce carbon dioxide. It works much better than flat Si! See: @J_A_C_S. Thanks to @CHASE_Hub for support.

Our new publication as part of the @CHASE_Hub with my good friend Sharon Hammes-Schiffer was just published in @Orgmet_ACS. @XiaofanJia tried hard to attach Re hydrides to a metal oxide surface but the surface was too reactive... See:

In a new @chemicalscience article, we have collaborated with @HopmannKathrin to understand the rate of carbon dioxide insertion into Pd alkyl complexes. Surprisingly ethyl is twice as fast as methyl, which is ten times faster than n-propyl. See

We and @MayerPCET were involved in a large collaborative effort from the @CHASE_Hub in @InorgChem ( on how to attach molecular catalysts to Si semiconductors to make photoelectrodes for carbon dioxide reduction. It is very challenging.....

Always a pleasure to work with my friend Wes Bernskoetter at the University of Missouri. Our latest article, led by Wes' group, explores the role of metal-ligand cooperativity on Mn catalyzed carbon dioxide hydrogenation. ( @Orgmet_ACS)
