During the concept phase a base jump was added to the layout taken from another map concept. That jump is still today a unique BF moment.🪂

In the 4th December patch for

the automatic spawn when round starts will be disabled in all game modes (except Final Stand). This to not force spawn players that temporary went "afk" during round transition and are not back in their seats at start. We hear you.

Grand Bazaar (
#Battlefield3
) was a mental rollercoaster map to design. The urban setting and the footprint of buildings made it tricky to create exactly the micro gameplay I wanted. But when I added the alleyways between and behind buildings I was able to improve flow. 1/4

Back in 2010 it was the first time (?) a DICE game had big enough marketing budget to run physical ads locally in Stockholm. It was a surreal feeling standing there at the subway station thinking ”I made that!”. Notice the smoking Stockholm skyline.

we made the Vietnam xpack which ended up as a mini BF game - new maps, vehicles, armies, weapons, frontend, music, ...
The Vietnam war itself was horrific but the to me exotic setting has always been a favorite so working on this was a blast!

the first map I started to work on was ”Gulf of Oman”.
My favorite flag to attack, defend and set camp at for an entire round was the center village sitting in the construction site or the crane.

) was the first BF map I ever worked on. It was already started and worked on when I got it but still far from finished. Highway to sea was all empty, no micro gameplay in the village, nothing around the hotel (no hotel?), no crane, no railroad... 1/3

Before BF3 xpack Armored Kill was out the level designers moved on to work on

. That was the last BF which I worked as a level designer.
Lancang Dam, Flood Zone and Rogue Transmission were the maps I designed but I did game mode work on almost all maps in the game.

map "Breakaway" has a consultant helping out from a pole position. First task was to make the ice look natural. No preparations, just dove right in. Totally winging it. This week a beak at combat area, taking a bird eye view on their shapes.

12 years ago on this day we had posters down in the Stockholm subway for a game we had shipped. Today similar ads cover the whole facade of tall buildings and other structures. Times have truly changed when it comes to how companies market games (and movies and...).

The old players on the servers crossed themselves, and whispered crazy things, strange things - "El diablo cazador de hombres".
Only in the hottest map this happens. And on this map, it grows hot. "El que hace trofeos de jugadores" means "the one who makes trophies of players"...

Rogue Transmission (Battlefield4) tried to fill the shoes of Damavand Peak. A primarily Rush layout and a visually never before seen experience. After the dish was suggested I lobbied hard to make sure we kept in the plan. The result was again a visually totally unique map. 1/3

Earlier there was a suggestion about adding ”Firestorm helicopter” to the main game. Few of the things to consider:
1. Vehicle count - there is a vehicle limit in BF. Most noticable in larger modes like Conquest. Adding new vehicles could mean less of what is available today. 1/4

) was the Gulf of Oman of BF3 but with industrial setting. It had some great variationd of theme between sectors (harbor and containers, train yard, ware houses and airfield) as it was built mainly for a Rush layout with a beach landing going in. 1/5

During the Mirror’s Edge project I missed Battlefield Bad Company. But when moving to the Battlefield IP I was in time to join the sequel Bad Company 2 and back doing multiplayer maps again. In BFBC2 I designed Laguna Presa and my all time personal favorite ❤️ Panama Canal ❤️.
