@ahorberg @julianlucena5 Flying is important. The deck has very dubious removal and almost every opposing deck clogs the ground with creatures. Floodpits is more like an awkward removal spell than an actual win condition.

@gabrielstonemt I don’t think it will help much because vigilance is not what the deck needs. Evasion is the most importantly effect I’m looking for.

@Avarax05 @AndreiMTG Paper reps are very important to me because you can easily play your cards wrong given paper Magic doesn’t automatically stack your triggers or resolve your cards properly. A lot of jank play can be rinsed out at regular rel.

There’s enough oppressive cards next in line to eat up x/1s that it’s probably best to raise the floor of 1 drops and 2 drops. I would like to see Bowmasters get banned, but I don’t think it’s realistic at this point. They will probably print more 1 damage pingers as time goes on anyway.

@WeechForTheSky Yes, but cards need to individually hold their own these days. Also, lords are pretty bad cards these days because they don't have any lasting effect if they die. Just kill the lord and Bowmaster the 1/1.

@itsmebeale I think Lifecraft engine is expensive both for mana cost and crew cost, so we'll have to see if the lord effect makes up for it.

@francderson It's possible it's playable in Pioneer but I find I'm way too choked on mana in that format and I'm not as interested in a lord effect, but it's possible.

@itsmebeale You could play both. Standard Merfolk has only 1 lord and this can sort of act like one.

Mindspring Merfolk is a very cool card coming out of Aetherdrift but sadly dead on arrival in Modern and Legacy. 1 toughness creatures are gatekept out of the game by Bowmasters in addition to other 1 damage haymakers. X/1 creatures need to be very high on power level or get immediate value, which Mindspring can't do as the ability is clunky and unlikely to be available in the first 5 turns of a game. I don't expect Wizards to ban all the x/1 hate cards so I would appreciate they up the baseline toughness to cards like this to a 1/2 otherwise it's unplayable.

@Matej_Zatlkaj I don’t buy guides because I make my own, however I average spending about $1000 when I travel to a tournament. $15 to get a guide from a respected authority to be the best prepared for my trip seems like a no brainer to me.
