Yesterday, we joined the global community to mark 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, reaffirming our collective resolve to combat cancer through prevention, early detection, treatment, and care. Today, as we open this symposium, we take a bold step toward fostering dialogue, innovation, and collaboration to address cancer challenges in Nigeria. Cancer remains a significant public health burden, affecting individuals, families, and communities. However, we are not helpless in this fight. The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, is committed to strengthening cancer care services, expanding screening programs, improving access to treatment, and ensuring equitable healthcare delivery. Our focus remains on closing the care gap and ensuring that every Nigerian, regardless of location or socioeconomic status, has access to quality cancer care.
