Last month I started a Google Sheet called "So you want to Work in Climate" to make an art piece. It became a work of art itself with 417 resources!
With the thousands of layoffs over the past few weeks, I thought it could be helpful to share again
We all know about cow burps + climate change, but have you heard of whale poop + carbon sequestration?
As whales surface to breathe and poo, the nitrogen in their waste provides nutrients for phytoplankton to grow. Phytoplankton capture about 40% of all CO2 produced in the world
Wind turbines in residential neighborhoods are placed at least 300 meters from the nearest house. So the sound would be about as loud as a refrigerator.
At the loudest point it could sound like a lawn mower (105 decibels).
I've gotten a bunch of requests from cities to license or customize my "Potential Savings from the IRA" watercolor. I made a Gumroad pay what you can to license it or get a custom version for your city!
Annnd thanks to heat pump gnomes I just hit 6K 😂😍
I love what I do SO much and am incredibly grateful to this magical climate twitter world. I can't believe I get to make climate art as my full time "job" now 💚🎨
First time being aggressively trolled on Twitter about climate ✅
I knew it was coming but still not fun to deal with 😅
It's been a journey this year deciding when to have more clear opinions on the art I make. I am proud of developing a stronger voice but it's not easy!
Low-key stressed about Twitter. I quit my job 6 months ago to be an artist focusing on climate communication
I've met all my amazing clients here. Just in case y'all leave, I'm looking to find a few recurring clients or larger projects
Retweets appreciated + DMs open ❤️
No pretty colors for this one since it's not a pretty topic- cement is the source of about 8% of the world's CO2 emissions. Comment with any solutions you've seen to help reduce carbon emissions related to concrete
I'm soo excited to share that I'm one of
@HarvardCCHANGE
and
@PiqueAction
's Climate Creators to Watch for 2023.
I saw this list last January when I first started painting and thought to myself I really hope next year I could be on that list. Very surreal moment 🥹

Going private has helped SO much the past 24 hours to let me breathe a bit. Grateful for all the messages and support ♥️
Since I'm private I'm slightly nervous about not being able to reach more folks to find work
Ways to help:
I'm working on an art piece that will be called "So you want to work in climate" and I'd love to crowdsource your fave resources.
I started a google sheet if you'd like to add in there or comment here! Retweets appreciated 😃
Agrivoltaics consist of integrating PV modules above crops in order to allow food + energy production on one piece of land. They can provide farmers with additional income and promote the economic development of rural areas.
If I was a cartoonist, I would draw people standing in a building that is flooded by the sea, there are wildfires on the hill above them, they look hungry because wheat is withering in the nearby fields under a blazing hot sun. One is saying, "yes but what's your web3 strategy."
2.5 years ago I painted a watercolor version of
@ed_hawkins
Climate Stripes. Little did I know that painting would go viral and change my life
I now wear this dress to every climate conference I go to as my ~work uniform~
#showyourstripes
Western monarchs have lost 99.9% of their numbers since the 1980s. Studies have linked climate change as a major driver of monarch population loss.
They are highly sensitive to weather and climate bc they depend on temperature to trigger reproduction, migration, and hibernation
1.3 billion pounds of pumpkins are landfilled in the US every year after Halloween. These emit methane, a potent greenhouse gas.
Here are some fun ways to save your pumpkin from landfill 🎃
Really grateful to have worked with
@EvergreenAction
on their
@EPA
report card. Take a look to see how the EPA can move further, faster to cut pollution from the power sector!
1 year ago, I decided to paint a watercolor a day for 100 days. I didn't have a goal or a theme, just wanted to create for fun. Little did I know how much this year would change my life.
Within 10 days, I started painting about climate and the rest is history!
I'm excited to announce my next big climate art project- I'm going to make a coloring book about climate change!
I’m thinking the theme will be electrification + renewable energy. But what I want to hear what you want to see in it!
So proud to have partnered with
@RockyMtnInst
and
@AmericaIsAllIn
to illustrate this new guidebook on how states, cities & more can take advantage of the IRA to accelerate cheaper + faster electrification in homes and buildings
Had such a magical time at my art show opening last night!! Thank you to everyone that came out and supported me at my first art show. Such a surreal experience to have one just 7 months after I started painting about climate 😍
