The Killers and Spartacus are very good. Paths of Glory is great. But the leap Kubrick made w Strangelove is astonishing. Script, dialogue, themes, humor, performances, editing, FX, design, symbolism, originality ... And then he made an even large leap w/ his next film.

Years ago, I heard a lecture by N.T. Wright in which hypothesized that the Israelites developed their idea of the satan by observing that the evil of the world appears to have a personal, malevolent nature.
One reason I believe in God's existence is my observations of coincidences in my life. Some might argue these coincidences are just random events without rhyme or reason. Certainly something to consider. But these coincidences ALWAYS occur in a “religious” context.
