Top 3: hydration is essential, refrain from drugs & excessive alcohol, and ear/skin protection is key. Stay safe and enjoy the music!

I am continually impressed by the silent professionals making emergency departments successful: patient transporters, radiology technicians, environmental service workers, and registration clerks. Among many other professionals, these dedicated pros deserve our admiration.
@TIME
Magazine from May 28, 1990. As we get closer to the 33rd anniversary of this cover, the challenge of ED boarding and crowding exists with solutions elusive. Thankful to

Launching 10.8.23!
It's here.

Shout out to Armando from

Environmental Services. He is part of the true class of health care heroes, our environmental services team. An absolute professional. We couldn’t perform our duties without you.
I pursued an MBA before medical school. I learned how to identify priorities/ become fluent with balance sheets and the role of opportunity costs. An MBA is a different lens upon which to view complex healthcare problems. We need more doctors to understand the business of med.
As I embark on the final day in residency, I want to thank
@SpectrumHealth
@MSUMD
@ECS_WMI
for challenging me to be a better physician each day & helping me become a better man. Grand Rapids will always be home.

As we witness each day, bystander CPR saves lives. This moment of public awareness and unity affords our country the opportunity to teach hands-only bystander CPR. Imagine booths around
@NFL
and other stadiums where citizens could learn to save a life.

@NAEMSP
Today is my last 24HR shift of ICU in residency. Was handed this at hour 19. Grateful for the ride the last few years & for an anonymous kid from Michigan who made me smile.
@emresidents
My advice to residents and medical students today. Volatility creates opportunity. Abundance > scarcity mindset. Utility players win the larger game. Live your values. Relationships are the secret sauce. Positioning is essential. Play the long game.

Tomorrow is a big day for many. Thank the people in your life that helped you get there. For me it was a third grade teacher, Miss Linehan, who tutored in reading. She believed. Work hard, treat everyone well, can-do attitude. Everything else will fall into place.

I remember being a medical student doing research at
@MayoClinic
in
@DefeatDIPG
in 2015. In the parking office, I would walk by this sign. A simple message yet fundamental for all of us, irrespective of role or health care system. We all have a role to play.
@LifeandPICU
Thank you,
@NHTSAgov
EMS Director Krohmer, for your time, teaching, and your mentorship. I am grateful for the time you took building our present and for challenging us to build the future.
Here’s what I learned from
@emresidents
Bd. Listening=hard, speak less. Finance is objective. Relationships take time, need cultivation. Respectful professional disagreement is art to be mastered. Handshakes are key. Strategy vs. tactics. Word=Bond. Thank you,
@emresidents
.
Wonderful thread from
@SSpadaforeMD
who, by example, daily showcases the art of ‘what if’ with the capability and sophistication of reliably and consistently executing. You made
@emresidents
better, and you made me better too. Looking forward to seeing you shape our world.
