Thank you, Chancellor Boyce.

On behalf of the Myrlie Evers-Williams Institute for the Elimination of Health Disparities Advisory Board, we salute our namesake for her selfless courage & visionary leadership. Thank you!
I hope Mississippians across the state are exercising their right to vote. Let’s send a clear signal to the nation that we’re not who we were 50 years ago.

Deeply saddened by this news. Crystal was extraordinary inside & out. Her kindness, love for family & community, and dedication to helping others were inspiring. I'll miss her smile, warmth, and positivity. Farewell, dear friend. Until we meet again, rest in peace. 🙏
Dude told Vice President Pence to SUSPEND THE CONSTITUTION and there are folks who call themselves strict constitutionalists supporting him for president. 👀
Sell crazy someplace else; we’re all stocked up here.
“Nic’s talking about race stuff again.” Yeah, because it appears some folks are still fighting the Civil War. If you’re sick of hearing about it, believe me, I’m sick of having to bring it to your attention.
I don't know if God is trying to tell me something, but I'm all eyes, ears, heart, and soul. My grandmother gifted me w/bible when I was baptized. I lost it 20 years ago. I don't know how. During this week of thanksgiving, I received Facebook inbox message from a kind stranger.
It will be removed one day. It’s disrespectful to a great number of Mississippians. It’s a slap in the face!
I urge fellow Mississippians to call elected congressional and statewide leadership to demand this racist tribute to slavery be removed.

I’m having trouble digesting this. We sent ventilators to Russia in May, 2 months after learning Putin had put bounties on American soldiers. This doesn’t make sense.
We have been calling Nevada’s name like our mamas used to call us when we were outside playing. If

Dr. Freda Bush gained her wings last night. I’ve known the Bush family for decades. When I first moved here from DC, she welcomed me with opened arms. I was a teen when I first met her, not knowing many years later she would deliver my son into the world…🙏 1/2
Leaders across the state should make it crystal clear that this is unacceptable and that they stand with Dr. Dobbs.
There should be no confusion about the consequences of threatening harm to public officials or anyone. Track’em down and lock’em up!
I have received some threatening phone calls and want to clarify any confusion there may be with some conspiracy theories going around:
CONSPIRACY:
- My son works for Dr Fauci in D.C.
- My son's wife has financial connections with the World Bank Group (WBG).
This really shouldn’t be about political games. What some of my fellow Mississippians fail to see is the hurt and disappointment Black citizens feel when elected officials dismiss our feelings or ignore a painful history of hate...
Governor Reeves is right. A second official state flag doesn’t solve problem. It ignores the issue here. We want the flag lowered forever. Many agree that we’d rather have no flag than to have a Confederate emblem continue to represent black Mississippians, all Mississippians.
“In four years, from 2011-15, Mississippi lost $1.5 billion in total income through outmigration of its residents. In the six years from 2010-16, the state lost 35,013 people.

is the only state losing people at this rate."

Something positive to start your day. Watch as these two teenagers hear the genius of Phil Collins for the very first time. As a former drummer, I’ve always liked this one as well.
Happy 91st birthday to my friend James Meredith! Your courage in desegregating higher education and unwavering determination continue to inspire. Celebrating your heroic legacy and commitment to equality. 🎉🎂

Dude, try researching what you’re responding to before giving general cotton candy answers. Response was ignorant at best. Racism isn’t to be taken lightly just because this person’s feelings are hurt at the responses to original tweet. Shame on both of you.
Morgan Freeman was advocating for Black history to be taught throughout the school year in the school curriculum. It was originally created because it wasn’t being taught, still not being taught. Our kids have to go to theaters to learn about real black contributions to America!
I am heartbroken to learn of Johnny Morgan's passing. He was a good friend, a loyal supporter, and a straightshooter.
I first met Johnny when I was a student at Ole Miss. We quickly bonded over our shared love of the university and politics. 1/2
People who look like me are sick of “educating” our fellow citizens about racism. It’s not up to us to teach you about racism and our racist history. Let’s assume that anyone who supported slavery, murder, rape, and lynchings probably shouldnt represent a state in the US Capitol.
For the last month or so, I’ve been thinking about how to start a conservative conversation about changing Mississippi’s statues in the U.S. Capitol. I’ve asked people I trust who might be a good replacement and Lamar and Medgar Evers names kept coming up. I saw this today in

I had a wonderful dinner last night with one of my heroes, Mr. James Meredith. As we were leaving, I told him I’d forgotten to get a picture tonight with just the two of us. He looks at me and says, “Nic, I’m still here.” lol. I said ok we will take an usie… 1/2

To my family and friends, you better not take that mask off! Continue to wear the masks and social distance. CDC Director stated that the masks may be more effective than a vaccine. We have no vaccine and COVID hasn’t subsided.

In times like these, one should think how would you feel if black power monuments declaring superiority over whites stood on public squares.

It’s disappointing to see that yet another proclamation was issued honoring soldiers who fought for a state’s “right” to oppress, rape, murder, and lynch 37% of Mississippians’ ancestors.
One day we will end such disgusting recognition of disgusting evil acts!!
I prefer to be true to myself, even at the hazard of incurring the ridicule of others, rather than to be false, and to incur my own abhorrence.

One day, our leaders will break free from the grip of Jefferson Davis and Alexander Stephens' vision of America, redefining where citizens of color truly belong within the framework of a more inclusive American society.
