This is a very very interesting topic!
The cortex is filled with excitatory local synapses, but we know little about their role in brain function. New experimental tools, along with ideas from artificial intelligence, are poised to change that. By @HistedLab

@dudelbem Concordo 100%. Eu costumo dizer que a UFMG é uma grande usina de mentes brilhantes. São muitos alunos bons. Impressionante.

Amazing study by @Pierre_Le_Merre and colleagues from @CarlenLab . Huge congratulations!!!
Our new study is out! We (@CarlenLab) mapped the mouse PFC using single-unit activity! We recorded ~23,000 neurons across cortical/subcortical regions and profiled spont. firing patterns to reveal what separates the PFC from other brain regions. 1/n

@dudelbem Isso sem falar quando os organizadores do Congresso cobram inscrição do palestrante e ainda não pagam sequer o transporte. Surreal!

This is amazing!!!
How does the hippocampus moderate reactivation following learning? We identified a hippocampal circuit mechanism which seems to play this role- and it’s driven by CA2! Check below for a summary of our recent results from this week's @ScienceMagazine 1/
