I feel like I should say this again.
If you're an NSFW account and you follow me, leave normal comments, or like my posts; that is 100% cool, and I won't feel uncomfortable. But NEVER send me that kind of stuff or try to leave it under things of mine.
The View Distance effect used to be much more stylized in older builds of Fortnite. It made props appear as if they sprouted from the ground, and made buildings look like they were being built up.
If you've ever looked closely at most male Fortnite characters, then you may have noticed that they have very blocky hands with no fingernails!
This style trait lasted from 2015 to 2022, being phased out at the start of Chapter 4 when the new character base was introduced.
So I guess Damien Haas did some of the NPC voicelines in LEGO Fortnite.
It's literally just him doing the Dennis voice.
I am so delighted about this discovery.
This is 100% real by the way lol.
This texture was in the game from 2013-2021, and was removed shortly after a player pointed it out on r/FortNiteBR subreddit.
Fun fact!
The music for Take the L is from a track called "Organ, Circus" by Sound Ideas.
It was part of the "Series 1000 Sound Effects Library", with it being commonly used in cartoons such as Flapjack!

Put this in a quote retweet too, but it's actually the current island. The cubemap for Battle Royale was updated at the start of this chapter, phasing out the two featuring Athena that were used for the longest time in the mode. Most modes retain the old ones.
Anyone else miss the old art style for the Fortnite Emoticons? The newer ones are very hit or miss, and tend to be super inconsistent and clash with each other heavily.
Would love to know who did the old emoticons, I've always loved how they look. :D
Save the World's intro cutscene from Online Test 6.5 with freecam enabled!
This version has it as a cutscene played in-game rather than the pre-rendered video seen in the final release. (really sorry for the discord pings in the video!)

Just the like the last post, this isn't something worth fighting about.
You're allowed to like whichever style you want, and should respect the opinions of others.
After being broken for years, they've finally fixed the bounce animation when jumping on top of vehicles.
It's so weird seeing this effect work properly again because of how long it's been.
I honestly miss the Burbank era of the Fortnite design language.
While I don't hate Heading Now, and have gotten quite used to it- I feel it lacks in charm and isn't really unique compared to what we had before it.
Something I noticed in recent Emotes is that the props used in them have started to become significantly more stylized, featuring traits similar to that of Chapter 3!
This doesn't mean that style is coming back, just an observation. :D
Wanted to share this here as well since I thought people may find it neat! :D
Most of Fortnite's textures were done in Photoshop, and back in the day to create a highly stylized look- the "Cutout" filter was applied over images, giving them their unique appearance!
@autistazinha
These are good examples except for the first image.
That second crate was made because level designers had a hard time stacking the jankier ones. It's as old as the other props.
The sound effect when striking a weak point used to be very different in older builds of Fortnite, following the same progression but with a square instrument instead!

Makes me happy to see that Fortnite is still using the pop-in animation for the logo at the end of their trailers n' stuff.
It's a small thing and I know probably no one cares, but it's nice to see them use it more frequently since it's usage dwindled a bit before Chapter 5.
I just want to say this-
Be VERY grateful that we ended up with "Uncle Pete's Pizza Pit", because had they not changed it- we would've had "Uncle Tickles' Pizza Pit"...
Burbank felt really special to Fortnite's identity, and this new font just feels weird for me to look at for too long. I know this isn't the end of the world, but i feel a genuine sadness about this change. Definitely gonna miss it. :(
I somehow never realized that the Ceiling Zapper is just a deconstructed version of the transformer model, even using the same exact textures and material.
I wish that this background ended up in Chapter 5.
The moving grid style background was something I really liked about older Fortnite, and it would've been really neat to see it return with a refreshed look.
Thought it'd be cool to post this properly as well.
Here are renders of some "Back Blings" I found in the files of the Online Test 6.5 build of Fortnite! :D
I'll render out some more if anybody is interested in seeing them. :)
Female characters also had these hands, but they didn't last as long as the male ones did.
In 2019 they introduced a new character base for female characters, which included these rounder versions of the hands.
Fun fact!
The audio used when fast-forwarding the opening of a Loot Llama in Save the World is actual sped up speaking, in which you can hear a man advertising a Canadian pharmacy.

Rendered them all out, so here's a thread of all the "Back Bling" I found in Online Test 6.5! (Some of these do exist within the current game but with some visual changes.)
Starting with the more neater ones. :D

I'm really happy that I have a lot of Save the World characters in my locker. (except Samurai Scrapper)
I remember being insanely surprised when Ray made it into Battle Royale. It was so cool seeing characters from that mode be given attention like that. :D
Added a little photo of the Storm Shield to my banner a few days ago.
I've been loving trying to learn and mess around with with the Fortnite style recently. :D
On the texture of the blueprints you pull out when entering Build Mode, you can see the names "Peter Ellis" and "C.F Bartlett".
Pete Ellis was an Art Lead at Epic, and directed the art for Fortnite until quite recently.

The modern Vindertech symbol is very similar to the symbol on Lennox Rose's shoulder.
...and the Verse logo?
Epic seems to really like styling the letter "V" like this.
Something interesting I noticed from the in-game screenshot and the locker icon is that it looks like they didn't update his head model.
You can tell by how his eyes are lit and how the teeth are modeled.
I somehow never realized that the Ceiling Zapper is just a deconstructed version of the transformer model, even using the same exact textures and material.
