I've fully reverse-engineered GT4's gt mode code. The first thing I was always wondering about is the delay/progress bar when installing parts.
Well it turns out it's just trying to simulate some *random* wait time to appear more "realistic"
I've removed it.
The free May 2023 update to Gran Turismo 7 brings the addition of three new cars, two Cafe Menus, Scapes locations, additional tuning options, and more.

来週、アップデート来ます。
映画「グランツーリスモ」に、GT7のサラが出演してる! 映画を4回観て気づきました。
Update coming next week.
I noticed on my 4th viewing of the movie that Sarah from GT7 is in GT Movie!

I've been told this was used in the GTWS Showdown, but some more work was put into the weather radar, which now displays a location accurate map and dynamic progression for the past 60 track minutes
Whether this will actually release at one point is still unknown
Since I saw some people complaining randomness in Daily C, ~5 months ago I did find this debug feature which allows looking at the current & past rain conditions in pre-race
This is the sort of thing I feel should've perhaps been available in the first place
I've decided that i'll be retiring from GT/racing genre research. After 4+ years of making tools & carving the way to modern modding from near scratch I think it's time for me to move on to new adventures [1/6]
I may've finally figured GT4's mesh data format 👀
Understanding them was one major step towards custom models
(displayed: Nike ONE lower LOD + main LOD)
So if you've golded ALL Circuit Experiences prior to this update..
You have 47,400,000 Cr. to claim, yes you've heard right 👀
They absolutely redeemed themselves only with that alone

There may soon be a way to buy (or make?) engine swaps in some way - seems to be limited to collector level 50 (which seems fine to me - good insentive to get there)
Most likely won't be in today's update, but worth keeping in mind
Fixed the major issues..
Was able to easily import a car with 6k triangles (3x the amount of an original car, just as a test)
Next up is wheel/tires parameters.
Looking promising!
I've archived the majority of GT Sport's online static data (Server configs, brand central, mileage exchange, BoP database & lots more) and currently uploading on archive.
Should be helpful in the (very) long term future
"One last detail that the sim racers in the audience will be sure to appreciate: the GR Corolla will make its “virtual debut” in Gran Turismo 7, the manufacturer also announced today."
I'm sure some are also wondering, prizes are also correctly given with the last cheat code; 24 hours races can effectively be skipped provided you're past 365 game days
Since I saw some people complaining randomness in Daily C, ~5 months ago I did find this debug feature which allows looking at the current & past rain conditions in pre-race
This is the sort of thing I feel should've perhaps been available in the first place
This has been in the works for a few weeks but I've finally made a website covering GT Modding.
So far it covers GT4/5/6, will expand to other games soon
We also have a discord incase you're interested!
This was something that I and i'm sure many others were wondering, and that i'm finally able to confirm now that I possess the appropriate hardware
It is possible to run GTS offline WITH saving, and all it takes is a command line argument!
New GT5 MM update is out 👀
One of the highlights are QoL improvements for the Arcade mode, Car & Course filtering & more have been added all thanks to

Went around GV in debug camera, kinda incredible how subtle yet different and detail-lacking it is on PS4
Lack of crowd grass, scenery, easter eggs. You wouldn't notice unless you upgraded, which I might genuinely do 🙃
One of the next update's cars is the Mazda3 Gr.4.
Was revealed at the offline Mazda Spirit Racing GT Cup competition.
Has been a rather recent work (showed up in 1.36)
Potentially a hot take as a more casual player, but this is a pretty amazing update very well made, possibly the best one so far
It's quite fomo but nonetheless quite clearly some effort went into it, hype lived up to expectations 👍
Guesses have been mostly accurate now, so, confirming:
Top Left: Ford Sierra RS 500 Cosworth '87
Top Right: BMW M2 Competition '18
Bottom: Nissan Silvia K's Aero (S14) '96
There is a fourth car (existing car branded as 25th Anniversary) not certain whether it's obtainable.
A couple of events/champs that mainly got cut or are not available yet, as i'm slowly sorting my setup out.
The legend car championship was supposed to come after the Gr.3 one.
Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 '18
Maserati Merak SS '80
Mazda MX-5 (NR-A) '22
Nissan Skyline GT-R (KPGC110) '73
Late tweet but yeah.
For the MX-5, it's a "most probably" according to the data that I have.
Still no traces of cars i've previously alluded to though.
A small sample of how the live events are controlled from outside the game. This would be the camera/displaypart.
Quick camera jump to any car, and UI display control.
GT7's Daily Races for next week (15/05/2023):
🇦 - Maggiore - East End / Daihatsu Copen Active Top '02 BoP (6 Laps, CM)
🇧 - Road Atlanta / Gr.4 (5 Laps, RH)
🇨 - Red Bull Ring / Gr.3 (13 Laps, 10x Tyre, 2x Fuel, RM+RS & RM+RS mandatory)
Porting model files from the GT Sport closed beta seem to work carried over to the latest retail version... 👀
Just don't mind the invalid specs/wheels being a bit off, just haven't inserted the proper car data into the game's database
Been working on the GT6 Spec II mod again after a good year or so of research/reversing & developing tools
One thing I always wanted to change was how events were never explicit in terms of the cars that were in it, so I added car thumbnails and a PP display for a start
Man it's been a while since I last touched GT7 but i'm happy Eiger finally makes it in (has been my favorite track, actually)
But... full layout seems to have been removed entirely based on what I know sadly, oh well i'll take anything
Old GT5/GT6 online players, we need your help!
Yesterday we found out that it is possible to recover online assets such as GTTV movies and more.
We collected 12Gb worth of movies from someone who had their PS3 sitting around since 2010! [1/2]
On-top of sellong cars being (finally) confirmed, I believe lobby qualifying options will make an appearance, there's been some work towards it.
As usual, could come very soon, or in a few nearby updates.
Some new beloved GT cars seem to be in the works now. There may be a new VGT coming aswell from a brand that doesn't have one yet.
Sophy continues being worked on as a set of missions.
Additionally all engine swaps have been found, roulette odds are unchanged from 1.20.
GT7's Daily Races for next week (24/04/2023):
🇦 - Maggiore - West Reverse / Audi TT quattro '03 BoP (4 Laps, CS)
🇧 - Kyoto - Yamagiwa / Gr.3 (5 Laps, RH)
🇨- Le Mans - Gr.2 (5 Laps, 1x Tyre, 1x Fuel, RM+IM+W*) * explicit tyres = hints to rain again
@Rowdy_GT4
Man it genuinely sucks for PDI too. Absolutely can't complain considering the labor of love level of quality that we've been getting absolutely free of charge
I'm glad not to be too much into cars too. It's nice to be free of expectations and just enjoy
Glad to see GT7 win best Sports/Racing but to be honest it should've won best audio design instead, not much competition on the former
Absolutely gutted for Xeno though
Daily Races for next week (13/03/2023):
🇦 - High Speed Ring / Fiat 500 1.2 8V Lounge SS '08 (3 Laps, SS)
🇧 - Lago Maggiore - East Reverse / Gr.3 (5 Laps, RM)
🇨 - Suzuka / SF19 BoP (10 Laps, 7x Tyre, 2x Fuel, RM+RS & RM+RS mandatory)
Some things so far
- RS 5 is indeed Gr.2, DRS works in online races
- Alphard can go up to 569bhp, has aero parts & custom race exhausts, no wide body😔
- BoP changes even for Gr.2
- Expect drastic PP changes for most cars, Escudo has lost 70 PP in average
Added some extra cameras from replay mode in gameplay.
Some of which will most likely serve as the base to introducing cockpit cams in cars that have proper interiors
Seems like Sony just rapidly announced that GT7 will support PSVR2 at launch at their CES2023 conference
Expected it to come based on my prior tweets, but at launch is a nice touch
So in regards of PDI's current plans for GT7, they seem committed to add features from past games as of lately. Mainly lobby related, and some other welcome ones. It'd bring the game closer to GT6/Sport.
They really were not quite done.
