I'm a journalist, based in West Yorkshire. Focus of my work is holding police forces to account. Trust me, WYP has more officers than it knows what to do with.
Weak management, misdirected deployment, (Labour) PCC oversight failings are key issues. Not 'cuts'.
I was in West Yorkshire where thanks to the Tories there are 1,000 fewer police on the streets than in 2010. There are 21,000 fewer police in total around the country.
You cannot protect communities on the cheap.
