My wife used to love dogs, then we had kids and she realized they weren't as important and in recent years, honestly, she has grown to kind of hate dogs (and the dog enablers) and the place they are occupying in our declining society. I am sure there are many others like her.

We were at a playground with the kids a couple months back. A guy came walking up to us with his dog, he said "mind if I let him run around?". I said "Yeah, kind of". He said sadly (trying to guilt trip) "Ok, I guess I will go find somewhere else". This is a fenced playground.

If you want to hear some real anti-homeless takes, talk to people who have family members who are homeless. They will, often, have very little sympathy and tell you how they have helped them for years, they burned 1000 bridges, are choosing it, how they are not perfect “victims”.

Everyone would basically be 50% happier if everyone dressed a little better. Clothes are everywhere. Everyone doesn't have to be a clothes hound, but if the girls looked pretty and the guys looked nice, people would be happier and even more optimistic about the future.

Beautifully Simple. White, stone and brown. No patterns, no stripes. Solid colors. Room in the arms, room in the legs, room around the chest. No (or very little) break. Belt is longer rather than shorter. Easy, simple, natural, beautiful.

Cold and Earthy. The polar opposite of athleisure. You can't have this same fit if the sweater is thin or tight. You could recreate all the colors but unless the sweater is big and roomy the feeling is all off. Also note the LL Bean Gumshoes.

Incredible juxtaposition of photos. The aesthetics tell a story. You get a sense that in that old photo with Jobs, there was still a connection to the organic world. The pages in the books, the wood. He was in the middle of a bridge. With Cook, it's pure synthetic nuworld.

Very nice. 9 times out of 10, all graffiti does is make the world look dumber and uglier. Not only is it largely stupid in message (if it ever has one), but the aesthetic is generally one of an ugly cartoon. It's actually kind of crazy that we don't punish it more.

Incredible photo from 1946. The juxtaposition is so striking. You can feel the severe and imposing thrust into the future so strongly. Emerging from the haze - tomorrow. It is a tragedy Art Deco didn't continue in full force for a century. It was a different kind of future.

Kid culture (and the fawning facilitation of lots of organized kids activities) is interesting. It didn't really exist before the 50s. Grotesque high school sports palaces and 80 million dollar high schools are the current extreme point we are at in the acceleration.

Insanely cool glasses. Super 80/90s. Problem is many guys who might try to wear them today do so in an obviously ironic way *and* the rest of their appearance is slobbish so it just looks goofy, stupid. But if you nail everything else super straight & strong; can be very cool.
