To be fair, Hamas hides their military within and underneath civilian infrastructure. This makes the nature of combat different from the other conflicts that you mention. Since Hamas is committing war crimes itself, you can’t pin the responsibility of all the deaths on Israel.

It would have been a good idea to stay outside the building. Any reasonable person should expect to be arrested and prosecuted for going in there even if they felt justified. Be smarter. At the same time, the fact that the FBI said go go go and no barriers-definitely a trap.
