@m_chiles @Strickomaster One that goes from bad to good. Bad being exam results way below national average, good being significantly over. All the other things you have mentioned feed into and out of improvements in attainment. In my opinion.

@Strickomaster @m_chiles Which schools have v positive p8 ( > 0.5) with v few language entries and low A8? Be fascinated to see them.

@m_chiles @Strickomaster Speaking as a Head of a turnaround, currently in the results lag, I think that’s an excuse. Exam results are what changes children’s lives, IMO we can’t describe a school as ‘turned around’ unless the results are strong.

If this is true it’s too depressing. The new government had such a massive opportunity to reframe the way we talk about immigration for the better. Instead of taking it, they have tried to appeal to potential reform voters with stuff like this.
