Think of if HxH skipped the Chimara Ant Arc, One Piece skipped Marineford, Naruto skips the Pain arc, Jojo skipping Dio's World, or Attack on Titan going to the basement in season 2. It's Tokyo Ghoul 2.0 by skipping the best arc in the manga.

To be fair, shows like Animaniacs, Gumball, Regular Show, Samurai Jack, Batman TAS, and S1-3 SpongeBob might have been directed towards kids their writing clearly shows otherwise with the character wit, drama, and jokes that anyone can get into.
