A unique look at FDNY EMS EMTs & Paramedics, NYC EMS life in general, First Responder life everywhere & NYC politics. As always, unofficial, satirical and wry.
22 years after 9/11, FDNY & a large portion of the media, ignores the role that EMTs & paramedics played on 9/11 & rarely publicizes the sacrifices EMS made when EMS responded to the attacks. Here's a look at EMTs and paramedics on 9/11.

22 Years ago today these EMTs and paramedics responded to the 9/11 attacks and never returned. We will never forget you and the ultimate sacrifice you made trying to save others, on that horrible day.

On 9/11 EMS EMTs and paramedics paid a heavy price.
Sadly, year after year 9/11 continues to take EMTs and paramedics long before their time is due.

I just want to assure you that when this is over & we have heroically met every single challenge put in front of us, that the media, the politicians & the public will go right back to forgetting who we are.
On 9/11 FDNY dispatched their 911 participating EMS providers to the 9/11 attacks. Some of the EMTs and paramedics never returned home. Others became sick and others died. FDNY and NYC ignores them all. Like they never even existed.

America’s underpaid, oft-forgotten EMTs are bearing the brunt of the pandemic. Sadly, front-line EMS teams are used to being forgotten by our broken for-profit healthcare system.
Hey
@Google
and
@GoogleDoodles
I fixed your 'Thank you' to 'Emergency services workers' that totally left out the Emergency Medical Service & all the hard working EMTs and Paramedics that are on the front lines responding to Coronavirus ...you're welcome.
It was an honor to host Prince William at

Although the media doesn't focus on it, EMTs and paramedics paid a horrible price on 9/11. Multiple EMTs and paramedics responded to the 9/11 attacks and never returned home.

The FDNY Fire Academy’s class of 2019 will include at least 13 graduates who lost a Firefighter father on that day, plus one son of a Police Officer who perished and two FDNY offspring whose dads died later of 9/11-related illness.
Everyone knows about 9/11.
But you don’t really know about Sept. 12, Sept. 13, Sept. 14. You don’t understand the October, the November, the 2002, the beyond. You don’t know the cost we paid for all those days past 9/11.
I’m here to make sure you do.

The children’s mother had to be taken to the hospital, but Engine 1′s crew stayed with them until another family member could arrive and made breakfast.
With the NYC vaccine mandate now in place, people may notice a shortage of available FDNY firefighters, who are able to respond to EMS calls and stand near a patient, looking bored, until an ambulance arrives.
As the media writes about the

& the FDNY Commish & Mayor talk about the tragedy, one thing they don't mention. The emotional toll of every Police Officer, Firefighter, EMT & Paramedic who was there & the images and sounds they will carry for the rest of their lives.
The NYPD's use of new electric police cars is off to a great start.
As soon as that gas powered generator recharges the patrol car it will be back on the street.

It looks like someone parked in front of the fire hydrant (don’t do that!!) but the FDNY seems to have forced open their doors so they could connect a hose? They’ve also set up a little mobile command center. Both of those things are right outside my bedroom window.
Q: Why is a fire truck sent with each ambulance, even on medical calls?
Real answer: Because the Firefighters have nothing to do and we don't want to pay for a properly staffed EMS system.
