š£ What came firstāthe kitchen or the egg? š§ That was the question at todayās hearing as we discussed the critical need for innovative solutions to tackle the climate crisis. While I currently disagree with Elon Muskās politics, we can all agree that his decision to build charging infrastructure was a bold and smart move in advancing clean energy. New York has the potential to lead the nation in addressing the climate crisis, and Iām committed to ensuring we prioritize forward-thinking investments in sustainable infrastructure. Today marks a significant victory for justice and safety in our communities with the passage of Melanie's Law. This legislation is more than words on paper; itās a powerful acknowledgment of the challenges faced by some of our most vulnerable neighbors. Named in honor of Melanie, whose courage and story inspired this change, the law stands as a promise that we will do better to protect and uplift those who need it most. I am incredibly proud to have played a part in this historic moment and deeply grateful to the @GovKathyHochul, my colleagues/co-Sponsors (@AnilBeephanjr @SenatorHinchey @SenatorRolison) advocates, and community members who fought tirelessly to make this happen. Melanieās Law reminds us that change is possible when we come together with determination and purpose. Letās keep the momentum going as we work toward a brighter, safer future for all. #Legislation #Community #MelaniesLaw #NY43 #LeadershipInAction

Baruch Dayan Emes: I join with my constituents in mourning the death of Rabbi Zvi Kogan. It is vital that the perpetrators and all those responsible for his murder are brought to justice.
Not a dry eye in the Jewish world today. Our colleague, Chabad Shliach Rabbi Zvi Kogan, was murdered by terrorists. Kogan's body was recovered by Emirati authorities early Sunday morning. We are shocked. We are outraged. We are in mourning. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Rivky; his parents, Rabbi Alexander and Etel; his brother, Reuven; and his in-laws, R' Shmuel and Devorah Spielman of Crown Heights.
