The VIIRS polar satellite has given us a good image of the current fires around Fairbanks. We have the McDonald fire still going strong as well as the Clear fire to it's immediate northwest. There is a complex of fires to the west of Wickersham dome approaching 2000 acres.

We are looking to have another active day with thunderstorms tomorrow. We have issued Red Flag Warnings for much of the Eastern/Northern Interior. These Red Flags coincide with the driest wildfire fuels. We could see numerous fire starts from these thunderstorms tomorrow.

Things are heating up in the Interior this week.
Here are the expected maximum temperatures for our area on Wednesday and Thursday. Many portions of the Central and Eastern Interior are in the mid to upper 80s with a chance for parts of the Yukon Flats to hit 90°F.
