Our Elective Orthopaedic Team have been trialling a new dual operating technique to maximise capacity and reduce wait times for planned care. The technique allows one surgeon to complete up to 10 hip or knee replacements in one day compared to 5 on a single theatre list.

HIT lists having a very positive patient benefit for both our Gynae & EO teams with more to come in other specialties 👌🏻
We are using high intensity theatre lists (HIT lists) to help reduce the backlog for non-emergency surgery. Our gynaecology team carried out six robotic-assisted hysterectomies on a Saturday HIT list - 3️⃣ times the number of patients compared to a regular list.

Am amazing presentation today at Innovation Board from the team made up of Neurosurgeon, Neuropathologist, Uni Prof & @NUH_WAVE lead of how Nanopore technology been developed from idea to revolutionise patient cancer care moving forwards. Truly incredible work 👌🏻

3 months in & we’re really starting to see the fruits of the Innovation Board. So much JDI improvement happening across @nottmhospitals with a few exciting transformational projects brewing. Nice to hear we’re seen as useful & helpful to colleagues though, that’s main thing ✅
