The Active Travel team is tasked with providing new and upgraded pedestrian infrastructure across Limerick City & County Council’s four municipal districts, via funding from @NTAActiveTravel - the projects are then delivered by Limerick City & County Council's Roads department. The construction of the Broadmeadow Greenway is well underway 🙌 A new Greenway, shared footpath and cycle lane will allow active travel participants to enjoy breath-taking views across Broadmeadow estuary 🚴♀️ #ActiveTravel
Update on the construction of the Broadmeadow Way which is well underway. The new greenway is a shared footpath and cycleway between Malahide Demense and Newbridge Demense via the railway causeway along the Malahide Estuary. The provision of the greenway is a long-standing objective of Fingal County Council and is being delivered by the Council with funding provided by the National Transport Authority and facilitated by Iarnród Éireann. Works on the Marina Promenade are ongoing and the area from Church Avenue to the new Eastern Plaza is now open to the public. 🚶 Work is continuing on the construction of the rowing coaching balcony, resurfacing of the section from the Eastern Plaza to Cortado café, and construction of the Eastern Plaza and Atlantic Pond Plaza. 🚴♂️ The works will also include installation of new energy efficient public lighting along the Promenade. The project is on track to be substantially completed and fully open to the public by the end of 2024. 👏
