Sex work abolitionists only push us further into the margins.
They perpetuate the myth that sex work can never be consensual.
This allows us to be detained in “rehabilitation homes” against our will.
Sex work =/= sex trafficking!

Sex workers who depend on sex work for their daily living have lost their source of livelihood with no clients, no income hence no food. We are preparing a food kit that shall last for a month for each sex worker. Your minimum contribution can feed someone.
Researchers and epidemiologists from India say that this study lacks rigorous methodology and transparency, misleading assumptions about sex work. WE say that the researchers have NO IDEA that sex work does not happen only in red light areas.
We KNOW they are wrong!! The study was released in the Indian media in a sensational manner, leading to dozens of news reports with headlines such as this one, “Keep red light areas closed post- coronavirus lockdown: Yale School of Medicine.”

The stiletto has become a symbol of SW advocacy in Thailand during COVID times, when activists lined the streets with stilettos to demand Government benefits for SWs. They also couriered the shoes to Government offices and hung them on the gates of official buildings.
Include sex workers as a special category in accessing social benefits as senior citizens and also benefits for dependents. Older sex workers must be included in worker pension and retirement benefit schemes

Some of the signs read;
'Our children go to school too, we use healthcare services too, we are of different faiths too. Yet you want to remove us from public spaces, how is that justice?', 'Isn't removing us from our houses infringing on our rights as citizens of this country?'
We hope this thread has clarified and broadened the understanding we have of

. We must address each aspect differently, keeping in mind different social locations workers come from across caste, class, migrant status, gender & sexuality.

Construction workers, models, painters, sportspersons – all earn from physical labour.
But only SWs are told we “sell” our bodies.
We don’t sell our bodies, we provide a service!
Give sex work the same recognition as other labour!

Trans people exist, sex workers exist, and trans sex workers exist-across identities: as trans women, trans men, non-binary people and more. Our joy exists, and trauma exists. We exist across borders, professions, and social systems. None of us are free until all of us are free.
