"The word used to justify these assisted deaths: hopeless. No prospect of improvement. It seems to me that this places the problem within the person themselves. But is it the “patient” who needs to change or improve? Or is it society?" Thank you for this reflection @TuffreyWijne

A real highlight of #phpci24 = Hearing from @ntizimira on the concept of Ubuntu. "I am because we are." Thank you for helping us to understand the meaning of dignity and compassion.

Fantastic day today, inspired to feel, to think, and to talk about grief at #phpci24 How do we 'show up' - or not - and what are the ripple effects for our communities and society? A brilliant conference, hearing from a wide range of disciplines and nations in every session.

Different communication skills needed during (goals-of-care) conversations => responding to the intellect, the heart, the person. Location not as important as demonstrating empathy. Approaching GOC as collaboration, not conflict. Just one of many thought-provoking talks #phpci24

@angeliferrara Super interesting! Helps make sense of many conversations I've had in hospices and elsewhere. "An unequal distribution of social support is part and parcel of the everyday social reproduction of gender inequality." @rachelperry72 you might like this, refers to Men's Sheds!

New paper in @JPAHjournal - interesting findings for anyone seeking to improve services for underserved people. Q-methodology is a robust way to engage community members in the process of a realist synthesis. Well done @Alicebez123, it's fantastic to see this come to fruition!
