Congratulations to Eagle senior Ava Hinely on her selection as the NHS All Sports Spirit Award nominee! The purpose of the Spirit Award is to recognize students who participate or support high school athletics by actively participating in high school sports, cheer, band or team management, who inspire other students through their actions and who embody school spirit. Ava was a member of our FHSAA 2A State Championship winning Competition Cheer team last season and was also on the UCA National Championship team two years ago. Proud of this Eagle!

Congratulations to senior Whitleigh Walsh for being selected as the Niceville High School nominee for the 2025 Taylor Haugen Award! Whitleigh was a standout volleyball player at NHS, earning a scholarship to Northwest Nazarene University in Idaho. Whitleigh comes from an active duty military family and has moved eight times and attended nine different schools. Whitleigh has demonstrated unbelievable resiliency and resolve in having to repeatedly acclimate herself to new schools, coaches, teammates and environments. Very proud of this EAGLE! 🦅

Harmony Holland, Ainsley Pearson, Kate Robertson and Lily Disch, show off their BE AN EAGLE bracelets that they earned for walking across the street in the pouring rain this week to Ruckel MS to assist with their Book Fair. These four Eagles, along with several other students from the NHS Leadership classes, went above and beyond to help out our neighbors. We’re very proud of all of them for their dedication, kindness and willingness to help others! #BeAnEagle GO EAGLES 🦅

A principal training took us to Elliot Point Elementary today where I got to observe an NHS graduate from the Class of 2018, Julia Love-Sewell, teaching kindergarten and gift her some Eagle swag! Julia is a University of Florida graduate where she was a majorette in the UF band. We are VERY proud to see her teaching and joining the education profession. GO EAGLES 🦅

Meet NHS junior Kat Nielsen! Kat was recently accepted for the ACDA (American Choral Director's Association) National Vocal Jazz Honor Choir. The application process is extremely competitive, and only 16 students were chosen for this national honor choir. The organization is divided up into regions, and she was the only student from the Southern region accepted. She'll travel to Dallas over spring break to sing with the national choir. Congratulations, Kat and GO EAGLES

This weekend at the Eagle Pride Sounds of the Stadium concert at the Mattie Kelly Fine Arts Center at NWFSC, the NHS Director of Bands, Mr. Dan Wooten, conducts the Wind Symphony for the final time. After 40+ years in Music Education, Mr. Wooten will be retiring this year leaving behind decades of amazing performances and continuing the tradition of excellence associated with the Music Department at NHS. Thank you, Mr. Wooten, and GO EAGLES 🦅
