Michelle DeLaune is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. @NCMEC
Alexandria, VA
Joined April 2016
Today, more than ever, Congress, the private sector, and the public must work together to thwart offenders who seek to abduct, entice, sextort, traffic, and sexually exploit and abuse America’s children. As challenges to child safety continue to evolve, NCMEC, law enforcement, and all our child protection partners must continue our efforts to keep children safer. Only by working together can we help ensure that every child enjoys a safe childhood.
Today, President Biden signed the Missing Children’s Assistance Reauthorization Act! Thank you @RepAaronBean, @RepJoeCourtney, @SenatorDurbin & @LindseyGrahamSC for your leadership in supporting NCMEC & ensuring the safety of our nation’s children.

The rise of GAI child sexual exploitation is a challenge we can’t ignore. By reporting incidents, supporting victims, and educating ourselves, we can fight back against these harmful uses of technology and protect children everywhere.
Over the past two years, NCMEC’s CyberTipline has received more than 7,000 reports related to GAI-generated child exploitation. GAI technology enables the creation of fake imagery, including synthetic media, digital forgery, and nude images of children, through tools like “nudify” apps. Learn more:

Adult offenders often groom children and teens in such a way that makes it hard, if not impossible, for them to see through the lies and false promises. Being required to report suspected child sex trafficking and online enticement will allow online platforms to become a first line of defense to safeguard child victims.
