@epengu hahaha yeah for sure -- my league circa 2012-2014 bias absolutely showing - i could include like some starcraft or warcraft 3 moments but I feel like those just never made it states-side anyway and would only further date me as an esports boomer

@FomTarro Yeah I think this is absolutely true. There simply isn't a monoculture for things to break into and become ubiquitous and well known by a critical mass of people.

@TAHK0 I don't know what point you're making. It does have value. They do highlight them after the fact. But it is not the purpose of these tournaments to generate "hype" moments in the same way that Riot and Evo need hype moments to keep their funding sources alive.

@TAHK0 So, if you're looking for the biggest difference in "why aren't there more crazy viral pokemon moments?" it's because there isn't money behind pushing them when they happen, just organic, grassroots reach.
