@acnewsitics Trump supporters are remembering when that was done to them because they refused to take an experimental drug.

For a classic that critiques international development, read James Fergusonβs book, The Anti-Politics Machine. 2 points: 1. Development aid never delivers on its promises, but the programs remain because the money props up puppet governments. 2. Development programs reframe political struggles and issues as merely technical problems, thereby letting corrupt actors off the hook. A good read.

@OwenGregorian Were Democrat spokespersons and strategists mostly marketing majors in college? All they every talk about is how to more appealingly spin their platform. Why don't they actually try to DO something that will appeal to a majority of voters?

That's the brilliance of the Democrat playbook (and to some extent Republican as well). By fomenting TDS, Dems managed to convinced the activist left that the Democrat Party is the vanguard of The Revolution, rather just another establishment organization doing the bidding of banks and corporations. There is nothing wrong with criticizing the Trump admin (no matter who is in power, citizens have a duty to be vigilant and call out BS). But is a lack of discernment with regard to what should be called out. Instead of thinking independently, activists take their cues from the Democrat party, rather than thinking critically on an issue by issue basis.

@USA_Polling Most people don't even know what "constitutional crisis" means. Kind of like "insurrection" and "treason." Our corporate media and politicians throw around "big drama" words and people simply parrot what they say to signal what side they are on.

#SuperBowlLIX Some food for thought about the SB and the expanding surveillance state: Abstract: This essay examines the Super Bowl and the smart city as conjoined spectacles. A focused case study on Super Bowl LIII and its staging in Atlanta, Georgia in 2019 allows us to investigate how the use of cutting-edge smart technologies, including cameras, sensors, artificial intelligence, image recognition, and data collection techniques to secure Mercedes Benz stadium naturalizes a broader anticipatory logic of state and corporate intervention, often evoked in the name of public safety and terrorism-prevention. Together the spectacles of sport and smart technologies gloss over systemic inequality and legitimize security infrastructures as well as related ideas that social problems such as a lack of affordable housing, police brutality, and environmental degradation are best addressed through technological solutions. Foregrounding the conjoined spectacles of the smart city and Super Bowl problematizes seemingly necessary security processes and social relations among people, events, technologies, and cities, inviting further research and discussions necessary for strengthening critical interventions and theorizing in these areas.

@jeffreyatucker Dual sovereignty is a state of affairs that is common before revolutions. Maybe the past few years have been an attempt to establish it.

Why on Earth would a judge call for the destruction of public records? You donβt see how suspicious that is? Itβs one thing to declare records inadmissible in a legal proceeding, but DESTROY them? That order is far greater βthreat to democracyβ than any audit of government expenditures. And the order is probably illegal (not to mention authoritarian).

@YourAnonCentral I bet this guy showed a vaccine passport to get into a Rage Against the Machine concert. And it probably wasn't even a fake one.

@YourAnonCentral Does one really need a mask a voice disguise to regurgitate corporate MSM and DNC talking points? I'm old enough to remember when Anonymous exposed, in explicit detail, "elite" corruption. Is there even a single group from the 20th century left that hasn't been co-opted?

Hasn't it been known for years that "Anonymous" has been absorbed into the intelligence apparatus? Granted, by definition, anyone can claim to be Anonymous, but there are good reasons to doubt that an individual claiming to be affiliated with the group/concept isn't a tool of the establishment .
