We have completed a $7 million, 22-month renovation of our inpatient Behavioral Health Unit. State-of-the-art safety and technology upgrades to benefit patients and caregivers were added, as well as calming décor and brighter lighting. The unit opened to patients in May.

Our New Life Center has been redesignated as a Baby-Friendly USA hospital for four more years. Being a Baby-Friendly hospital means practices have been put in place to help increase breast-feeding rates, among other healthy initiatives. Learn more at

Akron General nurse Hannah Fleming's life was saved by a liver transplant at 8 months old. Today, she works in Cleveland Clinic's transplant program and encourages everyone to be donor! She talked about it on Fox 8 this morning for Donate Life Month!
