This, one of my first landscape photos I took around 2014, still remains my favourite. Meru's captivating wide open spaces are a charm.

Why are these security officers killing children over mundane things? What happened to kindness? If they'd already shot him, why not apprehend him and then take him through due process? Do they stop to think of the emotional and psychological pain they are taking families through?

@theutdcode It will be bad for the narrative. We can not be coming together as an East African Federation while at the same time breaking apart. Congo needs to work. Congo needs hard work and sacrifice. If they must, they can copy and paste Tanzania/Zanzibar.

@mmnjug Before I judge the wife, who could be that one famous domestic violence perpetrator from Murima, let me ask these questions: Can you host a dozen Luhyas every day for a week and not go bankrupt? When a community is hosted daily, in man's living room, where does his family go?

Facts: If this administration can take back the dollar to 119, when Uhuru left it, Uhuru's debt wouldn't be a problem. Better still if they can take it back to 100, where most of Uhuru's debt was taken.

@doreeouma @Imonaar That policy, though well intended, is illegal. It can be struck down by a court. The hospitals or medical officers who created it and those implementing it may also face legal consequences. HIV testing should be voluntary and done after a pre-test counselling.

I am willing to bet that the allocation of funds based on population has created a perverse incentive for dishonest leaders in North Eastern Counties to inflate population numbers, to increase their sharable revenue allocation, money that we have seen misused or misappropriated by the same corrupt leaders. Another reason for inflation of population figures is to increase the region's political representation and influence influence in legislation. Leaders Might Manipulate Numbers by: 1. Pressuring census enumerators to inflate numbers or turn a blind eye to inaccuracies. 2. Creating fictitious individuals or households to boost the official count. 3. In an area that is home to several pastoral communities, falsely claiming increased migration into a region to justify higher population numbers. 4. Community pressuring enumerators, who are often members of the same community, this pressure may also come from local leaders or influential figures to inflate numbers. 5 Inadequate supervision or resources for census operations and poor oversight can make it easier for enumerators to manipulate data. It is important to note that manipulated data leads to misallocation of resources, flawed development plans and policies, and undermining of public trust in government and institutions. While it is important to note that not all leaders engage in such practices, potential for abuse exists, and robust oversight mechanisms are crucial to ensure the integrity of population data from the repeated census as directed by a recent court ruling, to allow for fair allocation of resources.
