The patient, who was receiving treatment for throat cancer, went missing on the night of January 21, 2025. His remains were discovered in a bushy area near a river close to the hospital, severely decomposed and partially eaten by dogs. Police are investigating how the patient managed to leave the hospital unnoticed and why hospital security personnel did not detect him as he walked out. The case is being handled by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), and the patient's family has been informed of his death.
